Were the A-Bombings Necessary?'s John V. Denson explodes "the 'patriotic' political myth that the dropping of the two atomic bombs on Japan in August of 1945 caused them to surrender, and thereby saved the lives of anywhere from five hundred thousand to one million American soldiers, who did not have to invade the islands" — The Hiroshima Myth.

Research of nuclear before WW2
Japan's Atomic Bomb PART 1~5
YouTube - Japan's Atomic Bomb PART 1
though it is an american Exaggerated propaganda

Indeed, Japan started to research about nuclear from 1940.

there was already uranium to make A-Bomd in Japan before WW2 by Kodama organs
Yoshio Kodama - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

the research had been finished in 1944.
then ,Tojo reported it with pleasure to Emperor .
However, The emperor opposed it by contraries.
Tojo doesn't act against emperor's intention at all.

However, a chief of the general staff concealed it and continued developing.
He cannot lead Japan to the defeat as a chief of the general staff. He thought His Majesty should be able to be pleased if Japan won a war.

Tojo dismissed a prime minister in July 1944 by the responsibility of saipan.

after that, The explosion of the rocket that piled up the warhead of the nucleus happened.
it became an accident that His Majesty knew it again.
It becomes impossible to have done the development anymore.

emperor said" "Man not only dies but also the plant doesn't grow either. Japan need not win a war by using such frightening arms."
then Japan gave up to make them

He then cites "Moreover, the enemy has begun to employ a new and most cruel bomb, the power of which to do damage is, indeed, incalculable, taking the toll of many innocent lives"

The emperor rejected the A-bomb to make in Japan .
He know everything. This was his criticism........

The research on the atomic bomb and it's development are separate questions from it's use. the US was right to develop the bomb in light of the research being carried out by the Japanese and the Nazis.

The use of the bomb, that's another question....

My dad served in the US occupation of Japan after WW2 and was stationed at Hiroshima. He patrolled what was left of the city. His stories of that time were haunting....

Your comments seem to suggest that you support the atomic-bombing of innocent civilians at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Let me remind you that there were a large number of Koreans residing in Hiroshima at the time of the bombing, including Prince Yi Wu of Korea.

kuiwon, I think Hoihoi51 is actually pointing out that even though Japan had its own a-bomb program, it was halted by the Japanese emperor for reasons of humaneness. It's an indirect criticism of the US bombing?

you are right.

if it was necessary, to drop A-bomd would be necessary for every countries where drop the A-bomd as the execuse.
If A-bomd will be dropped in US in the war, the victry country could say " it Was necessary"
