President Ron Paul and the Welfare State

From the Left, John V. Walsh looks at programs "like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security which the libertarian Paul wants to phase out, albeit gradually," reminding us, "Paul, the country doc, knows full well how people of little means rely on these programs and he proposes no sudden termination of them" — Social Democrats for Ron Paul.

Social security is an insurance program administered by Government. It is a property right as people have paid into it.
RP knows this well. Medicare should be ended and universal healthcare introduced. It is a human right and will save massive amounts of money in the economy! The UK France etc all know this. But sinister forces divide America, so as to rule the people.

They pretend to be christian.

Considering that the way to get proper healthcare in "universal healthcare" countries like France and the UK is to get private insurance, I don't see the wisdom in "universal healthcare" and its supposed economy-saving characteristics.

Jonathan Wolfe, I can't speak for certain about France on this, but next to no one in Britain has private healthcare, to the point that such private health sector as there is (in which the doctors work most of their time for the National Health Service, having been trained entirely by it), is permanently on the brink of asking the NHS to take over its bankrupt hospitals.
