"One titters nervously. We live today in an age where the Christian denominations have learned at least to be polite about each other, and therefore find texts like this faintly embarrassing."
And today we have raised up new evangelizing societies who take their faith seriously. Societies such as Greenpeace, while other older ones explain theirs away in nervous tittering politeness.
