Today's Saint

A reminder that "one day before 2011's celebration of the Ascension of Christ, the Catholic Church will honor the memory of the early Christian philosopher St. Justin Martyr" — St. Justin Martyr, patron of philosophers, honored on June 1. Click on the link for a brief hagiography.

The article reminds us that "St. Justin Martyr has been regarded as a saint since the earliest centuries of the Church," and happily that "Eastern Catholics and Eastern Orthodox Christians also celebrate his feast day on June 1."

One of the saints that I read that convinced me to return to the regular practice of the Catholic faith!
