I commented elsewhere that one of the more intriguing bits of that predictive programming known as anime/science fiction was Macross Plus, where a key character was a computer holographic singer who mesmerized the entire world.
We have composite star, and holographic singers. Put it together, and who know what the resulting golem will do.

Terminate us, of course, as soon as Skynet gets with the predictive program.
Or perhaps it'll just turn us into a bunch of batteries. But either way, it looks like living a computer game is what's in store.
