Modern-Day Kuru?

Mark Shea reports on what is now "suspected in [a] link to autism" — Vaccines derived from Fetal DNA. Who'd have thought cannibalism might have some adverse effects?

Certainly not the Papuans who suffered from Kuru, a "fatal neurodegenerative prion protein (PrP) disease," whose name "is derived from a term in the Fore language that means “to shake from fear” and stems from trembling as a conspicuous symptom," and which was "spread by the[ir] endocannibalistic funeral practices."

Interesting if true. Although I suspect the actually cause of autism is the pertussis vaccine.

Years ago when I read the side effects of the pertussis vaccine I immediately thought of autism. As did others.

Well, piffle. The post is down. Two theories:

One, blogger ATE IT for its political incorrectness!!!

Two, the redoubtable Mr. Shea discovered his source was totally unreliable, and nixed it himself.

I've heard this particular rumor before, btw, and have no clue as to its accuracy.
