The Bishops of Rome and Tripoli Were Right

Piero Gheddo argues that "despite the appeals of Pope Benedict XVI and the anguished words of the bishop of Tripoli, what was a 'humanitarian intervention' to save the Libyans from the violence of Gaddafi has become a war in which the West has sided with Cyrenaica against Tripoli" — War against Libya a reckless outrage.

Whatever the merits of his argument that the intervention is ill-advised, His Eminence's claim that the Arab world doesn't have far more exemplary leaders than Ghaddafi is palpably bizarre.

Taki called him "the Michael Jackson of the Middle East." That may help to explain his appeal.
