"Don't Call Me a Saint..."

"I don't want to be dismissed that easily," spake the saintly woman whom Caelum Et Terra informs may be elevated to the altar (and, full disclosure, to whom I have often asked for intercession) — Medical Miracle in Oklahoma After Seeking Dorothy Day's Intercession.

The photo reminds me of the observation of another Christian anarchist, grandson and great-grandson of presidents, and America's greatest man of letters, that "[i]n no well-regulated community, under a proper system of police, could the Virgin feel at home, and the same thing may be said of most other saints as well as sinners" — Henry Adams on the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I hope she is beatified soon.

Me, too. For the record, last night, either dreamed about her or she came to me in a dream, and it was something akin to falling in love. I'll pray daily for her intercession for my daughter.

Joshua, given the devotion to her that has peeped out of this blog over the years, I wouldn't rule out the latter possibility! I'm sure she has a special love for you, as saints do for their devotees.
