Fallujah Fallout

The American Conservative's Kelley Beaucar Vlahos reports that the "Iraqi city that was practically obliterated by U.S. heavy artillery in two major offensives in 2004... is experiencing a staggering rate of birth defects among its local population" — Children of War. "The litany of horrors is gut-wrenching," she writes, listing "babies born with two heads, one eye in the middle of the face, missing limbs, too many limbs, brain damage, cardiac defects, abnormally large heads, eyeless, missing genitalia, riddled with tumors."

Fellow Buffalonian and Catholic traditionalist Paul Likoudis wrote about the topic before the invasion of Iraq — The Morality Of Weapons Systems.

I think we need to avoid rushing to judgment or using double standards in cases like this; after all, this is no different than what the US government does to its own citizens, with things like fluoride and thimerosal.
