Korean Cull

A report and analysis respectively on a rather horrifying situation here — 1 million animals culled due to foot-and-mouth disease and Guilt and nightmares accompany oversight of animal slaughters.

UPDATES: "For owners, health workers, culling livestock brings grief and even PTSD" — Hard to say goodbye — and "[s]ome observers say S.Korea has failed to outline specific culling guidelines, leaving it far behind international standards" — Criticism grows as animals are buried alive to prevent disease spread.
