Warren G. Harding Was Right
"Is America really in decline?" asks Paul Kennedy, countering instead "that the United States is slowly and naturally losing its abnormal status in the international system and returning to being one of the most prominent players in the small club of great powers" — Back to Normalcy.
"Americas present need is not heroics, but healing; not nostrums, but normalcy; not revolution, but restoration; not agitation, but adjustment; not surgery, but serenity; not the dramatic, but the dispassionate; not experiment, but equipoise; not submergence in internationality, but sustainment in triumphant nationality" — Warren G. Harding: "Return to Normalcy". The speech by one of the last decent men to have run for the presidency and won deserves a fresh listen.

Harding, and this speech, figure in the hit HBO series "Boardwalk Empire".
I never would have thought that I'd be seeing Warren G. Harding dramatized in a contemporary cable program.
Wow! I need to get cable!
