T.S.A. Watch

  • Richard Spencer posts a video chronicle of abuses — TSA Highlight Reel — and the disheartening news that "a whopping 80 percent of Americans approve of the Transportation and Security Agency’s full-body X-ray scanners" — Imagine No Security State.

  • "I think it’d be wonderful to see the Tea Party movement turn on the TSA, perhaps if the organization’s latest actions can be painted as 'unconstitutional' somehow," says Russell Arben Fox, "whose sympathies lie on the left side of the political spectrum" — The Tea Party and the TSA.

  • "[W]hat should we expect in a society that requires adults to wear bicycle helmets while pedaling in the park, provides disclaimers of liability on TV advertisements, or prints warnings on fast-food coffee cups?" asks Richard Forno — TSA and America's Zero Risk Culture.

  • Not all of us, however, may have to suffer from these indignities — Napolitano May Exempt Muslims From Airport Pat-Downs — and one man wants to protect the rest of us from them — Ron Paul’s Anti-TSA Legislation.

They don't look any more revealing than standard swimwear that people seem to have zero qualms about wearing.

    - What I don't understand is why a computer cannot be used to analyze the scans and determine if any foreign objects are present. Or is part of the gig getting wasteful jobs for union members? And if so, why are these jobs not put up for auction, so that at least a few can get their jollies from these inspections?

GIve that man a no-prize! Except the people they hire from their adverts at the bottom of pizza boxes (you laugh, or not, but it's true), they don't have to worry about them getting their jollies.

They'll take of that part for themselves; just ask Meg McLain.
