T.S.A. and Cancer

  • Two stories that should leave any decent American outraged — Cancer survivor forced to show prosthetic breast to TSA agents during airport pat-down and TSA pat-down leaves bladder cancer survivor covered in urine.

  • "They say the risk is minimal, but statistically someone is going to get skin cancer from these X-rays," says Dr. Michael Love, who "runs an X-ray lab at the department of biophysics and biophysical chemistry at Johns Hopkins University," quoted by Linh Dinh — I Feel You.

  • "David J. Brenner of Columbia University's Center for Radiological Research says that using these scanners - with up to 1 billion whole-body X-ray scans per year in the U.S. - 'may profoundly change the potential public health consequences to the population,'" says the man who got my vote in '08 — TSA is Delivering Naked Insecurity.
