I love this Pope.

And not only is he the "Pope of the Bible", but he's also the "Pope of the Fathers" as well as the "Pope of theologians."

I found in the letter on biblical matters sections 38 and 42 by the Pope to be something out of Vox Nova. There is no way he saw the dooms or the death penalties the way the Fathers or saints did....unless John Paul is canonized....then Benedict will be linked to one saint's concept of inspiration. Both men see OT violence as not coming from God as the bible states...but as coming from the Jews and being rationalized by them. No Father believed that....nor any saint. It is a post Freud view.
