Alfred Schnittke's Otche Nash Performed by Oreya and Hymn Nr. 2 for Cello and Bass Performed by Daniel Arias and Edicson Ruiz

Alfred Schnittke was born of a Jewish father and a Catholic mother in the then-Volga German Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Given his background, one can understand the title of this documentary about him — The unreal world of Alfred Schnittke.

In their 1998 obituary, Martin Anderson noted that "at the beginning of his career he assiduously took on the Soviet cultural dictatorship on behalf of new music" and David Revill called him "[a] composer who could write dramatic, moving, humorous music, with references to recognisable syles, and who dared to call pieces by the kinds of title people could recognise" — Obituary: Alfred Schnittke.
