The Student Loan Industry

The New Beginning links to this important story — How Student Debt Wrecks Marriages, Inhibits Family Formation, and Delays the Housing Recovery.

Whom to blame? A post last year on the same theme had the suggestion that "the ever-increasing price of tuition" is "the government's fault for handing out so much money through loans and grants" — Allan Carlson on Student Loans.

I could own a rental property with the size of my monthly payment. I don't blame anyone but myself. My daughter is homeschooled and won't likely pay any tuition that cannot be covered with current earnings.

Thanks for posting.

"Helping more people go to college" is largely synonymous with "helping more people become debt slaves."

I've been contemplating starting a debt relief program for newlyweds to help get rid of their "anti-dowries."

Unfortunately I don't have any money myself.

Has Dave Ramsey come up here? He's a very anti-debt Evangelical with a show on on the Fox Business Network.

Such a "debt relief program for newlyweds" would be a worthy charity for a Catholic aristocratis family to underwrite. Could we convince the Kennedys? Or maybe the Domino Pizza/Ave Maria University fellow?
