September 11th, 1683

J.K. Baltzersen reminds us that "327 years ago today, the Battle of Vienna commenced" — At the Gates of Vienna. Hats off to the Blessed Virgin Mary and King John III Sobieski for saving Western Civilization. Amazing the number of people deluded into perceiving a similar existential threat in the events that occured 318 years later.

"Vienna, as we saw, was almost taken and only saved by the Christian army under the command of the King of Poland on a date that ought to be among the most famous in history - September 11, 1683."
