Secular Theology

"Is cosmology a form of theology for a secular age?" asks Mark Vernon — The Mirror of the Cosmos. "Cosmology is so popular," suggests the author, "not just because of the science, but because it allows us to ask the big questions — where we come from, who we are, where we’re going."

"Is String Theory Theology?" was the title of a meandering but eye-opening presentation a physics graduate student once gave in one of the classes I taught. My dealings with Korean scientists suggest to me that without the Christian God against Whom to rebel, they may be able to see things more objectively.
