Collateral Damage at Home From the Wars on Iraq and Afghanistan

  • "Our President," writes Justin Raimondo, "a captive of the bipartisan foreign policy of global intervention, no doubt knows it’s time for America to come home, but seems helpless to change course" — Come Home America. "That helplessness may sweep away his presidency, just as a similar paralysis swept away that of Lyndon Baines Johnson in the Vietnam era," the author writes. "More than that, it may catalyze a growing left-right movement against our crazy foreign policy of all war all the time."

  • "The Bush/Cheney/Obama National Security State," writes Paul Craig Roberts, "has eviscerated the Constitution and civil liberty" — The True Cost of the War. "The greatest price of this evil war is the destruction of the U.S. Constitution and American civil liberties."

It is not Bush / Cheney / Satan who eviscerated the Constitution and the rights of Englishmen, but their predecessors, who were not sufficiently vigilant that America maintain its Christian, Protestant, character.

The laws on the books are much less important that the people's willingness to tolerate the laws on the books.
