South Korea and Mr. Obama's Anti-Iran Sanctions

  • South Korea's main leftist organ reports that "damages to South Korean companies as a result of the U.S.-led sanctions are already becoming a reality, and if South Korea makes its own 'independent plan for sanctions,' as the U.S. is requesting, the aftereffects on the national economy could be considerable" — Iran sanctions pose economic risk to S.Korea.

  • A South Korean conservative daily reports that "Korea will shoot itself in the foot if it follows the U.S. in applying stricter sanctions on Iran, the ambassador of the Middle East country to Seoul warned yesterday" — Iran envoy tells Korea to avoid new sanctions.
