President Lee on Liberation Day

In the time I've spent in Korea (a full one-third of my life), these are the first comments by any head-of-state that remotely have made any sense about the north — Lee proposes 'unification tax' and Lee moves preemptively on unification cost, and forward-looking on Japan. If it is true that "[p]olitics is the art of the possible" as Otto von Bismarck said, then President Lee's "'three-stage plan' to reunify with North Korea" is probably the only possibility that will present itself.
