Jane Austin and Confucius

"The decline of European civilization has long been claimed, yet even with the rise of the East economically and politically, the values of the West and its culture will continue to be celebrated and shared around the world - even if that means Jane Austen sits cheek by jowl with Confucius," reads the Asia Times Online blurb introducing Martin Hutchinson's article — West will endure. All the better for both of us, I say.
