The Scandal Behind the Journolist Scandal

Unlike Rod Dreher, I'm not at all shocked by "the latest about the Journolist scandal," in which "members of the list -- prominent liberal journalists -- conspired to try to kill the Jeremiah Wright controversy because they decided it was an illegitimate story that threatened to hurt Obama's chances at winning the White House" — The outrageous Journolist scandal. The real scandal is that smarty-pants liberal journalists thought that the outcome of the McBama vs. O’Cain contest would make any difference.

Whenever one of our English teachers, PhD at Cambridge inter alia, was in a jovial mood, and one of the laggards in our class made a particularly egregious mistake, he'd thump his fist on the desk, and tell the hapless pupil that he'd better shape up, or the only avenue left to him would be to become a journalist.

Say it ain't so!

This what political journalists do. It is what they are for. It is why politicians keep them on. Well, that and to serve the drinks.

That this "scandal" broke on Fox News is ... well, what is the word?

If O'Cain had been elected, it would have made a difference. Congress would have fought with him a lot more. Almost never does anything bad come from legislative paralysis.
