Hats Off to the Jewish State's Rape Law
You may have read it here — Arab guilty of rape after consensual sex with Jew — or you may have read it here — In Israel, Miscegenation is Rape. Here in South Korea, there's still a law on the books that punishes cads for procuring sex with false promises of marriage. I'm no supporter of the Zionist Entity, but I see something similar at play here, and am not outraged.

You know, since the State of Israel is recognized under international law and is a member of the United Nations, the least you could do is refer to by its recognized name under international law. I'm all for criticizing Israel when it does bad things, but "Zionist Entity"? C'mon...
This is the most pro-Israeli post yet posted here, so please, cut me some slack.
Segal, one of the judges :
"The court is obliged to protect the public interest from sophisticated, smooth-tongued criminals who can deceive innocent victims at an unbearable price – the sanctity of their bodies and souls."
A rather interesting take, given the circumstances, on the Jewish 7th, Catholic 6th commandment
It's one thing to punish sustained deception, it's another to go to such extremes over a casual encounter. Any woman who hops in bed with someone shortly after being introduced has no reasonable expectation of a long-term relationship. Punishing a hookup should be done on some other basis than false promises.
The title "In Israel, Miscegenation is Rape" is at best horribly wrong, and at worst....
Relationships between members of ethnic groups ARE legal in Israel, but not that socially acceptable. It's persuading someone to enter into such a relationship UNDER FALSE PRETENSES that is illegal.
I agree with you Joshua, this is a good law, but I think at present it gets Israel PR it may not really need.
