From Jazz to Rock
Thomas C. Reeves ponders the "drifting away from America's only original contribution to Western music" and "the cultural revolution of what has been called the 'Dreadful Decade', 1965-75, [that] cemented public taste to rock" — Farewell to all that jazz. "The important and rarely asked question is: was the move from jazz to rock inevitable?"
Labels: America the Beautiful, Decline and Fall, Disasters, Jazz, rock n' roll

The dreadful decade in music has actually been the past fifteen years -- 1995-2010.
1965-1975? Unbelievably great rock music produced.
Actually I love both jazz (esp. cool and be-bop periods) and rock (esp. the so-called Dreadful Decade) just about equally!
