Abiogenic Oil

Lew Rockwell writes, "Forget all the protectionist, anti-Arab, environmentalist propaganda against the fuel of industrial civilization, petroleumForget all the protectionist, anti-Arab, environmentalist propaganda against the fuel of industrial civilization, petroleum" — The Truth About Oil. Mr Rockwell continues:
Oil is not formed from rotting dinos, and therefore limited. It’s not a “fossil fuel.” The earth produces oil from natural processes deep in our planet. Oil—and natural gas—are constantly being replenished. They represent real renewable energy, unlike, for example, those eery, ear-blasting wind turbine farms. To understand what the regime doesn’t want you to know, read Thomas Gold’s The Deep Hot Biosphere: The Myth of Fossil Fuels.

I find the abiogenic theory plausible because Russian geologists used these theories to explore for oil in the Soviet Union for decades during the Cold War. The Caspian Basin was explored by o applying these theories. However, at what rate do abiogenic processes produce petroluem? Is it enough to keep up with demands from our present civilization? There are those like Mike Ruppert who say no and that this will be catastrophic for our present day civilization. I somewhat agree with Ruppert on this but just not as much. There are a lot "doomsdayers" on the internet that write these alarmist articles that gets them plenty of hits but I question some of their reliability. For some more sober assessments I've found the articles, discussions and links off this guy's site a little more sound and informative:

Thanks for the link. I've been persuaded both by Peak Oil and Abiogenic Oil. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
