What Would Hitler Have Had to Say About President Obama?

An article with such a title would unthinkable on any conservative website (Hitler was of the Left), yet Danny Schechter is able to pen a piece with this title on a major "progressive" website — Is The President The Kind of Leader Chairman Mao Warned Us About?

"We now know that it was the Obama Administration led by the President himself who used techniques well understood and denounced decades earlier by none other than Mao TseTung," this clown writes. "Mao had no use for those who talked left to move right."

Well, thinking people on the Left or Right have no use for anyone who approvingly cites history's greatest mass-murderer.

"Hitler was of the left"

And no doubt Mao was of the right. Obviously the terms "left" and "right" in politics have been well and truly skunked.

Let's say Hitler and those who share similar views are of the Humpty, Mao and those who share similar views are of the Dumpty, Obama is of the Tweedle and George Bush II is of the Dum.

I worried that little aside would distract from the point of the post, that it's okay to laud Mao, Stalin, Lenin, etc.

Well, yes, it succeeded. If that was the point of the post, it whooshed right past me.

See Political Compass where Hitler is just
about top dead centre.

Lest we forget - Hitler was democratically elected.

Now, I've also heard that Chang kai Shek would have won had one of Truman's socialist lackeys not delayed a shipment of gold.

It shows the pernicious influence of the hard Left in our educational institutions. Mao was the most terrible mass murderer in history, and, in the Korean War, contributed to the deaths of 38,000 American troops. Yet, he is the guru and hero of a whole generation of Sixties radicals, and the duped students they've indoctrinated over the decades, once they completed their Long March through the universities.

One reason this is so is that Hitler's evil was based in race hatred, while communism's was based in class hatred. Racism, even in the early 20th century, was starting to become something of an atavism to the thinking classes. But the cognoscenti never rejected class hatred. It is still redolent of "progress", "fairness", and the rest of the stalking horses.

I sometimes think that the reason the Left put down their Little Red Books and picked up their Free Tibet signs over the past couple of decades, was because China became more capitalist.

I think you're right. Another reason might go back to the old Stalinist-Trotskyite divide. "Socialism With Chinese Characteristics" is similar to the "Socialism in One Country" proposed by Stalin and rejected by the internationalist Trotsky and his followers in the West.
