Hmmm...
The same suspects, clues pointing in all directions, and all apparently related to a deficiency caused immune disorder. Sounds like enptomology needs a Hercule Poirot to solve this one.
Indeed, he might find the scenario familiar. Sounds like the Murder on the Orient Express model.
If the bees do become extinct, even on a commercial level, then we are left with the cow, the pig, and some cereals & corn.
Just about the right time for the staff of bread to be broken, say by UG99 Stem Rust, perhaps?
