That's very good news. Chile in particular is right on the cusp of becoming a "developed" country. If it can remain largely outside the sphere of socialism, it has a real chance to leave behind the kind of grinding systemic poverty that has plagued much of Latin America. That would be something devoutly to be wished for and worked toward.
I spent a year in Chile as an exchange student and am happy to see it on the cusp of "development."
It's too bad the "rightist" who won is pro-abortion in one of the few countries where the crime is still outlawed.
